Nose: The red-golden blend starts very delicately. Sweet and woody notes combine with a refreshing lightness. It quickly develops further: leather, herbs and coconut emerge one after the other and alternate swiftly.
Mouth: Buttery soft on the palate, with a tropical-sweet note. Sherry characterizes the taste, accompanied by a hint of salt and a touch of liquorice. An association of damp sand resonates. The 21 years of maturation are barely perceptible, giving it an almost watered-down sherry character. Overall pleasant and easy to drink, but a little too unremarkable for the price.
Comments: We expected much more from this. The blend fell well short of expectations.
Nose: An immediately present Old Bottle Flavor (OBF) provides a dense honey note. Subliminal aromas of fermented grapes are perceptible. A subtle herbal note remains unspecific. In waves, the whisky stings slightly on the nose, accompanied by peppery spice.
Mouth: The soft attack confirms the OBF from the nose. A slight mineral note is added, while the dense honey sweetness dominates. A subtle chili spiciness ensures a dry finish. With a little water, the blend becomes significantly sweeter and more palatable. However, the finish remains short overall.
Comments: A typical Green Plaid.
